Ensure Young Readers See Themselves in the Literature They Read

In 2020, we launched Books As Mirrors: Ensuring Children See Themselves in the Literature They Read, a literacy outreach program for Spartanburg County public elementary schools, with a generous donation from Women Giving for Spartanburg. With their help, we donated approximately 1800 new, diverse hardcover books to six underserved schools. This year with your help, we hope to donate to another six schools and, ultimately, to give to all 43 public elementary school libraries in the county.
